The "shikhates": folk singers in Morocco, both the most beloved and most marginalized of women for one and only reason: their freedom! Their liberal manners and liberal tone permit them, uniquely, to chant the injustice against women and their fate. In a few simple words, Shikha Aicha summed up this situation: "our life is similar to this candle which burns sacrificing itself so that others may behold!"
